Call for entries: love, etc.
What makes your heart pound? Your breath falter? What calls you back, again and again, stirring something ancient in you?
This call for entries invites artists of all backgrounds (creators, storytellers, makers, and all inspired by this call) to submit work for a community exhibition and print publication exploring:
rage
rapture
grief
devotion
love, etc.
Dare to hold the full spectrum: the sacred and profane, the tender and volcanic, the breaking and the binding. The love letters never received. Voice memos recorded at 3 a.m. only to be drowned by the noise of the following day. The first time you forgave. Your last regret. Fidelity to a ritual no one knows. Tending to a garden no one else believes in. Sorrows folded into coat pockets not yet rediscovered. Fury choking out tears. Love, etc.—the unfinished sentence, the almost, the aftermath, the return. The beauty, the divine, the infinite.
The review process will consider the caliber of the work submitted, the interpretation of the theme, and the adherence to the call for entries guidelines. Entries of visual and audio contributions (of all sorts) are due at 6 p.m. EST on April 17th. Entries of written contributions (essays, short fiction, poetry, recipes, lyrics, and more) are due 6 p.m. EST on May 4th. Entries can be submitted at any time prior to the deadline.
